‘Yeah, I’ve raised to be outgoing and that has worked out pretty well for me. To some extent the extra encouragement to be sociable was helpful to me in the long run as was having to work with kids with other types of disabilities. A lot of autistic people struggle with finding romantic partners and also being desexualized. But sometimes in their efforts to reclaim their sexuality they forget that some of us are actually aromantic and asexual. Everything that’s built in the world around us is designed by people for people. It can be designed in a way to include everyone, not just the typical able bodied, able minded person. Any efforts in inclusion goes a long way. It’s a lot easier to build things right the first time than it is to add it on afterwards.’ – Kerry Chin, 2018
